Is the Mac translator free?

Yes. Translation is free and unlimited in all 120+ languages. Alternatives and possible meanings are included five times a day on the Free plan. Pro makes them unlimited and adds etymology and SL Chat.

Can I change the keyboard shortcut?

Yes. ⌥⇧T is the default, and you can set any other combination in Settings.

Can it translate text inside an image?

Yes. Capture any part of the screen and SnipLang recognises the text in it and translates it, side by side with the original.

Is my text used to train AI models?

No. Your text is encrypted in transit and at rest and is never used to train models, on any plan.

What do I need to run it?

A Mac with macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. SnipLang is a native app, not a browser extension.
